Major Smart Glasses Collab Strengthens

Meta has invested €3 billion to acquire a 3% stake in eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica. Since 2019, EssilorLuxottica and Meta have been collaborating to develop smart glasses integrating voice control, cameras, speakers, and augmented reality interfaces. Most recently, the Oakley Meta smart glasses, combining advanced AI with a sport-focused design, were launched. The markets responded positively to this development, with EssilorLuxottica shares rising nearly 6% on the CAC 40 index, surpassing key technical resistance levels. Meta’s potential increase of its stake to 5% would further strengthen the partnership’s industrial and technological capabilities. The ultimate goal is to develop next-generation wearable products that could replace traditional smartphones and computers. EssilorLuxottica Ceo Francesco Milleri emphasizes the company’s ambition to lead the wearable computing market by integrating digital innovation into everyday optical products. Chopard Honors Historical Race

Chopard unveils Classic Racing SCHL82 sunglasses, which pay homage to the Mille Miglia and the cars that made history between 1927 and 1957. The model is limited to 299 numbered pieces, a reference to the registration number of the car with which Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, took part in for his first Mille Miglia. Chopard’s new limited-edition model Classic Racing SCHL82 is designed for modern men, who want to combine the timeless charm of the past with impeccable style. Plated in 23-carat gold, every detail of the Classic Racing SCHL82 sunglass style evokes the colours and lines of the cars that made the Mille Miglia great. The Canaletto walnut wood, which covers the front and the temples, recalls the colour of the interiors of vintage cars, while the engravings on the metal inserts, inspired by the pattern of the tires, add a dynamic and distinctive touch. To complete the design, the integrated flexible hinges are added to ensure a comfortable fit. Polarized Barberini mineral lenses, in a refined grey-blue shade, offer clear vision and reduce eye strain. Silmo d’Or 2025 Jury President Announced

Silmo Paris has entrusted the presidency of the Silmo d’Or jury to French designer Olivier Lapidus for 2025. He will bring to this edition a fresh and boundary-pushing perspective, where contemporary design, craftsmanship, and innovation intersect with the world of optics. His presidency symbolises a desire to open up to new territories in contemporary design. 2025 Silmo d’Or Jury President Olivier Lapidus began his career at Balmain, before spending several years in Japan. He later became Artistic Director of the eponymous couture house Lapidus, then of Lanvin in 2017, before devoting himself fully to design. More recently, he designed for Dior a photobiomodulation mask at the crossroads of design, well-being, and technology. Winner of the European “Dé d’Or” for Fashion in 1994 for his autumn-winter Haute Couture collection, Olivier Lapidus embarked in the 2000s on an independent path, at the intersection of fashion, everyday objects, and interior design. His current work reflects a distinctly cross-disciplinary approach at the intersection of high-tech cosmetics, wellness, and object design. He is now developing a new generation of creations that combine furniture, decoration, and innovation, exploring the boundaries between interior design and contemporary uses.

Victoria Beckham Signed with Safilo

Marcolin and Gant Together Until 2032

The exclusive pop-up store created through the collaboration between Ray-Ban and A$AP Rocky is welcoming visitors from July 7 to August 31 at Via Fiori Chiari 16 in Milan’s art-filled Brera district. This unique space brings together fashion, music, and design, merging the creative vision of the New York artist with Ray-Ban’s craftsmanship. The store features bespoke frame customization, personalized styling consultations, and specially designed furniture reflecting the visual aesthetic of the collection. The entire atmosphere reflects A$AP Rocky’s bold yet sophisticated style.
