Thélios Opens New Facility in Longarone

Thélios opens a new facility in Longarone for metal processing, doubling production in the Made in Italy eyewear district. The newly renovated plant spans 20,000 square meters and employs approximately 400 people, doubling the company’s production capacity and creating an integrated 40,000-square-meter hub that also includes the acetate-focused Manifattura inaugurated in 2018. This investment strengthens Thélios’ role in the Made in Italy luxury eyewear sector, with over 1,300 employees now working in the area. The opening ceremony was attended by Valeria Mantovan, Regional Councillor of Veneto, and Toni Belloni, Chairman of LVMH Italy. The new site is the result of a strategic project launched in 2023, which led to the acquisition of the former Safilo facility. Thélios’ Ceo Alessandro Zanardo said: “This inauguration is both an achievement and a new beginning. On the one hand, we’re celebrating the revitalization of a strategic production site; on the other, we’re entering a new phase for Thélios, one that enhances processes and synergy between departments. With more than 1,300 employees, Longarone is increasingly becoming the beating heart of our industrial vision.”

Chopard Honors Historical Race

Chopard unveils Classic Racing SCHL82 sunglasses, which pay homage to the Mille Miglia and the cars that made history between 1927 and 1957. The model is limited to 299 numbered pieces, a reference to the registration number of the car with which Karl-Friedrich Scheufele, Co-President of Chopard, took part in for his first Mille Miglia. Chopard’s new limited-edition model Classic Racing SCHL82 is designed for modern men, who want to combine the timeless charm of the past with impeccable style. Plated in 23-carat gold, every detail of the Classic Racing SCHL82 sunglass style evokes the colours and lines of the cars that made the Mille Miglia great. The Canaletto walnut wood, which covers the front and the temples, recalls the colour of the interiors of vintage cars, while the engravings on the metal inserts, inspired by the pattern of the tires, add a dynamic and distinctive touch. To complete the design, the integrated flexible hinges are added to ensure a comfortable fit. Polarized Barberini mineral lenses, in a refined grey-blue shade, offer clear vision and reduce eye strain. All these technical details make the Classic Racing SCHL82 not only an elegant accessory, but also a useful tool for tackling every route in style.

Bourbon Way Acetate Series by Theo

Theo Eyewear introduces Bourbon Way, a striking new acetate collection that bridges playful nostalgia and cutting-edge design. Drawing inspiration from the iconic Portes-clés de Bourbon – whimsical 3D keychains from the 1960s and ’70s encased in transparent plexiglass – the collection pays tribute to these collectible objects, transforming their quirky charm into bold eyewear statements. Featuring six bold acetate models – YG, YH, YI, YJ, YK, and YL – the collection captures the essence of playful sophistication. Each Bourbon Way frame feels visually ‘frozen in time’, echoing the way the original trinkets were preserved in clear resin. The designs embrace subtle asymmetry in both shape and lenses, adding a distinctive twist that fits seamlessly within Theo’s signature eyewitness line – glasses known for their stories, originality, and unexpected details. Far from mere retro revival, Bourbon Way reimagines the spirit of collectibility for the contemporary wearer. Relief details enhance the tactile quality of each piece, making them as engaging to touch as they are to see.
