Porsche Design Unveils the Latest

De Rigo has launched an exclusive Porsche Design eyewear collection commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Porsche 911 Turbo. Introduced for this fall season, this limited-edition line celebrates the 1974 debut of the fastest road-approved sports car of its time, featuring a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder boxer engine with 260 hp. The collection, a collaboration between Porsche Design and eyewear industry leader De Rigo, showcases two distinct sunglasses models, called as the Turbo No. 1 and the Turbonite. Oakley Inspired by Nature

Oakley has just unveiled its new Born to Rewild collection. The new collection brings elements of nature closer with its new Plantris Eyewear, designed with matte trans fern/matte dark brush finish with Prizm Tungsten lenses – inspired by biomimicry and organic shapes. Meanwhile, the high-wrap dual lens design is an evolution of early Aughts eyewear adapted for maximum function and comfort. The collection also includes a new Latitude Flex Vest, part of a highly technical outerwear line influenced by movement.

Applications for Mido 2025 Awards Opened

Mido has announced the opening of applications for the awards, will be given in the 2025 edition. Through December 13th, Mido 2025 exhibitors can apply to participate in the Certified Sustainable Eyewear (CSE) Award, now in its 3rd edition. Up to 15th January, Mido exhibitors can also nominate their stands for participation in the Stand Up For Green Award. Through 8th January, opticians from around the world can apply to participate in the Best Store Award. Also this year, the Sergio Cereda Design Award will be presented for the 1st time.

Date Change for Mido 2026

Milan-based optical trade show Mido has announced a date change for the 2026 edition. Due to the opening of the Milan Cortina Winter Olympics on February 6, Mido 2026 will take place between January 31 and February 2. The decision to bring the dates forward aims to facilitate planning for exhibitors and visitors from around the world. Moving the dates forward will make it possible to avoid the logistical challenges of the opening of the Olympic Games, while providing greater accessibility to accommodation and transportation.
