Nirvan Javan

NIRVAN JAVAN

Intersection of Cultures

Nirvan Javan’s brand Dna is based on maximizing the language of form and placing the natural beauty of the user at the center. This focus on the essentials is not limiting for the designer, but rather liberating.

Intersection of Cultures
The Nirvan Javan brand was launched in 2015 by the Iranian-born Swiss designer of the same name, based in Switzerland. While earning his master’s degree as an optician, Nirvan Javan discovered his talent for design sketches and product development and focused on developing his skills in this field. His eponymous brand quickly made an impact in the eyewear industry with its minimalist and simple designs. Nirvan Javan has become a global success story with a brand Dna inspired by cosmopolitan influences that resonates in German-speaking countries.

Purist Designs
Nirvan Javan is inspired by cities, artists, cinema, different cultures and people in general. The designer also closely follows the biggest hits of eyewear design and reinterprets them in a contemporary form language. Nirvan Javan defines the ideal user for his eyewear as an elegant, cosmopolitan individual who wants to experience the world in all its facets.

So far, many cosmopolitan cities such as Tokyo and London have inspired Nirvan Javan’s highly acclaimed collections. As an optician and eyewear designer, Nirvan Javan has carved a niche for himself in the world of optics, but as a modern-day traveler, he travels to countless destinations around the world to explore cultures and cities. Through these travels, the designer learns to look at the world, cultures, art and artists from different perspectives, feeding his collections with all his experiences. Nirvan Javan’s design language is all about luxury materials. For instance, for many years the brand used only the highest quality acetate, which is hand-processed in Japan. Finding the quality level of the material exceptional, Nirvan Javan did not consider switching to different materials for a long time. However, in 2020, Nirvan Javan presented his Tokyo collection of frames using high quality titanium for the first time. Although the choice of titanium was a technological innovation, Nirvan Javan’s designs were as pure and classically inspired as ever, with new interpretations of double bridge structures and classic aviator forms. With the Tokyo collection, Nirvan Javan rapidly increased his brand recognition in the optical world and became known as a passionate designer who could envision the future of eyewear.

Futuristic Traditionalism
Nirvan Javan’s brand Dna is based on maximizing the language of form and placing the natural beauty of the user at the center. This focus on the basics is not limiting for the designer, but rather liberating. Nirvan Javan, who prefers to open up completely new opportunities in his designs, carries the mission of helping individuals in a cosmopolitan lifestyle to remember the existence of new horizons, dimensions and diversity through his collections. Especially in the last few years, Nirvan Javan has built a growing international fan base with his simple and contemporary designs. An uncompromising focus on craftsmanship and quality plays a major role in creating collections that have endured over the years. Aiming to evoke a pleasant sense of coherence and calm in an overstressed world, Nirvan Javan invites users to see the world through his collections.

Started 2023 with a New Monogram
In the first months of 2023, Nirvan Javan created a brand new monogram for his brand, meaning a motif that blends fonts and patterns. The Iranian-born Swiss designer first used his new monogram in the Marrakech collection, which he presented in the winter season. The new monogram, which he placed as a pattern on the temples of the frames in the Marrakech collection, was highly appreciated in the optical design world. This new monogram, which is one of the products of Nirvan Javan’s endless design journey, inspired by the great metropolises of the world and presenting eyewear collections with a relentless evolution and passionate creativity, also includes N.J., the initials of the brand. These two letters, which melt into each other and become a single whole in the monogram, ideally represent the brand’s pure design philosophy. The new pattern with classic elements sums up the embodiment of the modern world. The monogram symbolizing Nirvan Javan’s new brand identity adds new details and historical texture to the frames in the Marrakech collection. Inspired by the colorful bazaars and oriental architecture of Marrakech, one of the most culturally vibrant metropolises of the North African, Nirvan Javan only included optical frames in the Marrakech collection.

The frames in the collection, which are also made of high quality Japanese acetate, are equipped with a magnificent color palette based on the special geometry of Arab architecture. The details of the frames in the Marrakech collection, the new monogram engraved on the temples, uniquely symbolize the modern world that is intertwined, open and in constant change.

Javan’s Newest: The Stockholm
Nirvan Javan’s new Stockholm collection is inspired by the purity and simplicity of Sweden and captures the functional spirit of the North. The journey of experiencing the elegance of the modern world, a cosmopolitan belief to which the designer is dedicated, guides the designs in the brand’s new collection. After touching metropolises such as Toronto, Marrakech and Tokyo, Nirvan Javan finds himself in Northern Europe this time. In the designer’s hands, the North transforms into Stockholm, his new collection. Inspired by the purity and simplicity of Sweden, the designer transforms the Scandinavian metropolis into another universe in his new collection with the brand’s purist design approach and lines. In everyday frames completely stripped of excess, Swedish design philosophy comes to life and shapes full of simplicity and clarity with universal appeal. Thus, matte frames made of acetate kept in earthy colors capture the functional spirit of the North. Sweden, thanks to Nirvan Javan, is almost fit into an eyeglass frame.

Caroline Abraham

CAROLINE ABRAHAM

French Touch

Inspired by the iconic fashion of the 60s in its optical and sunglasses collections, Caroline Abram expands its Karma line with four new models…

Caroline Abram, an optician trained in ‘Designer Oriented Stores’, started designing jewelry and accessories such as magnifiying glasses and chains for the eyewear market in 1998. After receiving four gold Silmo Awards, Caroline Abram opened her handicraft production workshops in Dakar, where she trained a team of women who produced a wide range of jewelry and accessories in materials such as resin, silver and wood. Discovering the charm of Florida in 2008, Caroline Abram started to present her sunglasses and prescription eyewear collections reminiscent of Miami’s age-old fashion appeal. Caroline Abram, who succeeded in making her name known worldwide with her eyewear collections representing the feminine stance, carried her rapidly rising graph even further by designing optical glasses and sunglasses collections for children in 2014. Caroline Abram crowned its success by taking home the Silmo Award in the Best Children’s Design category. Overall, the brand’s eyewear collections are characterized by a refined French touch with a vintage feel.

Bold and Unique
Focusing on women, Caroline Abram eyewear collections stand out for their creativity and unique color combinations that provide boldness and freshness. Caroline’s collections offer women the opportunity to express their personality. Her frames are meticulously designed for all women who want to feel beautiful, attractive or just being themselves. The iconic and indispensable fashion of the sixties inspires Caroline Abram’s creations; bold frames such as butterfly curves, panthos, oversized or cat-eyes do not escape the attention of eyewear lovers and optical fashion circles. Reflecting the beauty of a deep and cat-like mesmerizing gaze and expressing a sublime femininity, retro-glamorous optical glasses and sunglasses embody the spirit of the brand’s collections. Caroline Abram, which reintroduced the folding glasses to fashion and utilizes numerous elements such as chains and ribbons in its collections, never compromises on high quality, optimum comfort and functionality. The brand, which prefers an almost infinite palette of ultra-trendy colors to accompany all looks of fashionistas and stylish women in its collections, proves that optics and sunglasses become dazzling not only thanks to their structure, curved details or forms, but also thanks to the richness of color.

Makes Kids Happy Too
Since Caroline Abram’s eyewear mission is to create prescription glasses and sunglasses for everyone who wants to feel beautiful and comfortable, complemented by style, the brand also enjoys producing glasses, prescription glasses and accessories for children. In this way, women and children around the world can skillfully express their unique style through Caroline Abram’s eyewear. With their unique and original designs, Caroline Abram sunglasses and prescription glasses open colorful doors not only in the world of women but also in the world of children. For this reason, Caroline Abram sunglasses, especially for women and children, are high-end, fascinating and colorful at the same time. Caroline Abram does not hesitate to add its innovative touches to its designs, regardless of whether they are sunglasses or prescription glasses.

Reliable and Durable
Caroline Abram’s optical and sunglass collections reflect the brand’s innovative and feminine vision and commitment to exquisite craftsmanship. Caroline Abram eyewear comes in a myriad of shapes and colors, with excellent attention to detail. Caroline Abram’s optical and sunglasses offer a variety of options for women and children to feel good enough to be noticed by the people in their social circles, while at the same time being durable and functional, making them a reliable choice. High-quality materials and attention to craftsmanship make each Caroline Abram design suitable for long-term wear, while maintaining their flexibility and durability, especially for children, even during play, sports and other activities involving movement. The brand’s accessories such as chains, which are specially designed for its eyewear, are becoming indispensable for its wearers by identifying with the brand day by day.

Karma Collection Expands
After Caroline Abram presented Karma, a collection of prescription glasses inspired by the zen philosophy for the Fall/Winter 2022 season, the brand continues to rise in the optical world with many new designs. With the retro-inspired models such as Katia, Klarissa and Kalinda in the Karma collection attracting great attention and acclaim, Caroline Abram is expanding the collection by adding four new sunglasses models to Karma for the Spring/Summer 2023 season. Available in four different shapes, the new sunglasses come in eight colors and are beautifully paired with the designer’s signature eyewear chains. For the Karma sunglasses collection, Caroline Abram embellishes the eyes with waves of movement, as she did with her optical line. Thin acetate frames with a gradual volume design offer a telescopic effect. Even with a strong correction, Karma is perceived as an optical illusion that lends lightness to oversized glasses. Even under tinted lenses, the look is elegant and attractive. Offering an arbitrary yet timeless selection, the colors in Caroline Abram’s collection look like a rich stained glass window, the wave-like designs catching the light in an ideal way. True to her reputation, Caroline Abram offers Karma in a wide palette of colors such as violin, peach or peacock blue. With Karma, Caroline Abram opens a new chapter in her source of inspiration, be it for her optical or sunglass designs. For the new Karma sunglasses, the designer takes inspiration from the work of Japanese architect Kengo Kuma, who created the new arches for the Angers Cathedral in France.

The brand is known to reflect dominant trends in eyewear fashion at a relatively affordable price. Always in line with the season’s hottest trends, Vogue Eyewear has an extensive range for women across categories. The stylish designs are guided by a simple belief – to empower the wearer through a style statement to express their vision of life with confidence. Be it the glam allure of high profile stars or the freedom of the country chic lifestyles, Vogue Eyewear has impressive eyewear designs for everyone. Over the years, the brand has rightfully earned a loyal fan following among the young and fashion savvy consumers. In 1990 Vogue became a part of the Luxottica Group and its heritage of flirty designs, innovative shapes and fun colours, grew stronger. Today, Vogue Eyewear is a popular choice for the likes of various Hollywood celebs like Kate Moss and Eva Mendes. Vogue Eyewear has enriched its legacy as a brand that embraces a playful sense of fashion in designs that are unique as well as colourful.

World-famous names in Vogue Eyewear’s advertising campaigns add more glamor to the brand’s style. New trends introduced by this leading brand create ripples under the hashtag #ShowYourVogue. In this context, it was no surprise that the collaboration collection, in which supermodel Gigi Hadid took part in the design process, made a big impact. Known for her elegant demeanor, Gigi Hadid has mastered the art of stealing hearts with her impeccable sense of style every time she appears in public, making her the ideal partner for Vogue Eyewear. For Vogue Eyewear, Gigi Hadid designed a collection of 90s-inspired cat-eye shapes with a modern twist and a high-impact character. This stunning collection has become a must-have for today’s woman who loves to make a style statement with bold designs and great colors. The retro-chic styles in the Vogue Eyewear x Gigi Hadid collection symbolized the spirit of the free-spirited woman who loves to live life on her own terms. The collection also included models that added a vintage touch for those who like to sport the bogo-glam look without going overboard.

With its commitment to creating more impressive eyewear styles, Vogue Eyewear continues to climb to new heights every day. Vogue Eyewear’s two collaborative collections with another iconic name, Hailey Bieber, have earned the brand full marks from the fashion community. The first Vogue Eyewear x Hailey Bieber collection, with its sharp angles and playful cuts, was almost a festival for eyewear lovers. The acclaimed first collection was followed by a new collaborative line that was launched last year in the Fall/Winter season. Combining distinctive style with the best looks, the second Vogue Eyewear x Hailey Bieber collection was inspired by the season’s hottest trends. Featuring the shimmering hues and soft shadows of the Fall and Winter seasons, this second collection received as much attention and acclaim as the first. The shimmering opal colors and striking angles reflecting the tones of the season were an eye-catching touch to the first model in this collection. The softly angled acetate model reflected Hailey Bieber’s iconic style with a choice of frame colors to accompany the sand and green tint lenses. The second model, characterized by the metal rivets that accompany the relaxed and innovative design, was designed to give a playful twist to sun style for everything from breakfasts to cocktail events. The Havana and black lenses were perfectly matched with the trendy earth tones. The star-studded brand continues to expand its portfolio and fan base by setting new benchmarks.

Vogue Eyewear is Celebrating 50 Years
Vogue Eyewear dedicates its 50th anniversary celebrations to everyone who has shaped the way we see the world since 1973. Jam packed with fun, interactive expressions of what it means to be in vogue, the campaign frames the brand’s constantly evolving vision through a 50th Anniversary Capsule of best-seller Vogue Eyewear styles. And its favorite color is pink, Hot Pink. Provocative and bold, this wide-spectrum tone embraces the complementary reality of rebelliousness and inclusion, a sense of belonging and the power of identity, playing with identifying elements in unexpected ways, just as the brand plays with its own logo – creating a futuristic new 3D metallic bubble-letter logo specially for the anniversary campaign – or revamps archive stars with contemporary attitude and a hot pink makeover of their packaging. Including original 70s stars and bold profile glamor, and trendy geometries or glam-chic retro shapes of the 2000s, the 50th anniversary capsule frames each decade of Vogue Eyewear with a style, revamping each one with a liberal dash of celebratory pink.

Miga Studio

MIGA STUDIO

INDIVIDUALITY AND FUTURISM

Miga Studios, the independent luxury brand that blends Asian minimalist and futuristic sensibilities with the cultural richness of Italy, presents its new line.

From its founding in Hong Kong to its execution in Italy and Japan, luxury eyewear brand Miga Studio has always focused on creating exclusive handmade eyewear collections. Overall, the brand draws inspiration from both the Italian design tradition and Hong Kong, one of the world’s largest commercial centers and a creative pole for trendsetting. Founded by two visionaries with extensive knowledge and expertise in the eyewear industry, the main objective of Miga Studio’s collections is to create a unique range of products recognized for the advanced technology used for every detail, protecting the brand from any kind of imitation. Although the brand’s handmade eyewear was initially created exclusively for the founders’ friends and family, the stunning eyewear quickly gained popularity among fashionistas. Miga Studio’s frames are designed with quality, colors and details in mind, resulting in best-selling shapes. Through in-depth research into vintage-derived colors and customized frames, Miga Studio has been able to leave a lasting mark in the optical industry with its ever-rising star. The brand combines Italian authenticity with Japanese craftsmanship to create unique, futuristic designs that blend different materials and push the boundaries of traditional eyewear. With a strong focus on individuality and innovation, the brand also creates remarkable collaborations to deliver impressive collections.

Block-busting Collaboration: Miga Studio x Hoet
Miga Studio and Hoet Design Studio, based in Treviso, Italy, presented their collaborative capsule collection at Silmo Paris, one of the world’s largest optical fairs, held in France from September 23 to 26, 2022. With this collaborative capsule collection, Hoet once again proved its technical mastery as a studio that designs for companies looking to create a custom eyewear line to enhance their brand or identity. With similar tastes, including modern architecture, the two brands have created a dazzling collection of bold, playful and particularly versatile frames. The designs in the collection combine elegant Mazzucchelli HD acetate materials and 3D printed titanium with balance and absolute technical precision. This avant-garde combination creates a new aesthetic effect that intensifies the architectural spirit that is in the DNA of both brands. Each frame in the Miga Studio x Hoet collection is characterized by a dramatic titanium brow line design with diagonal cutouts. The same sense of power and drama is traced in the details, from the end pieces to the choice of core wire. This collaborative project was born at the 2019 Silmo Paris, when Alessandro Fedalto, Co-Founder of Miga Studio, and the Hoet design team met for the first time. Miga Studio had caught Hoet’s attention with its use of titanium and manipulation techniques advocated for glasses with innovative details. The Miga Studio x Hoet capsule launched with three optical frames and three sunglasses equipped with polarized Zeiss lenses, ranging from round or square to bold and angular silhouettes.

Titan and Taisho are On Sale
Miga Studio starts the Spring/Summer 2023 season with a unique collection of 14 new models, divided into two categories: Titan, made with Japanese titanium, and Taisho, made with the highest quality acetate. From the designs of the new models to the model names, the brand takes inspiration from architecture. In both the Titan and Taisho categories, Miga Studio has derived the faceplates directly from a monoblock plate. Taisho is available in two thickness options, 7.5mm and 12.0mm, while the titanium Titan is divided into two options, the super light 4.5mm and the robust 11.0mm. The names of the models attest to the brand’s commitment to contemporary design that embraces multiculturalism while remaining true to traditional values. The Baltic and Timber models from Taisho pay homage to the architectural styles prevalent in Northern Europe. The elegant Frank, Zaha and Louis models bear the names of some of the most important architects of the last century. Titan, on the other hand, offers a variety of slim and bold forms, including the duo Cosmopolis and Metropolis and the robust Rider-Rafter. The Modulor frame is characterized by the brand’s signature raw-cut style. Miga Studio has used its signature 12.0 mm acetate family to create Titan and Taisho, and the characteristic titanium top applied to the front visually complements the frames’ silhouette with a bright, shimmering accent. In the absence of titanium, the frames are enriched with unique raw-cut mills that distort the volume of the monoblock with a clever play of positive and negative fields. Takiron acetate also stands out for its typically vibrant colors, such as transparent dark green and bicolor havana. Titan models are now available in unusual shades such as the glossy matte olive that has become a key signature of Miga Studio, while the two-color variants with black circles and olive frames take this category to another dimension. The Japanese titanium used by the brand in Titan has such a low density that, despite its 11.0 mm thickness, it is almost unnoticeable once worn thanks to its extreme lightness. With this special version for the Spring/Summer 2023 season, Miga Studio promises to be with eyewear lovers in every season.

The Best Austrian Brands II

THE BEST AUSTRIAN BRANDS II

LİMİTLERİN ÖTESİNDE

We continue to take a closer look at the best Austrian brands that push the boundaries and stand out from other eyewear brands globally.

ROLF SPECTACLES IS PART OF THE CHANGE

Rolf Spectacles was founded in 2007 with a strong vision focused on sustainability and natural materials. The brand prefers unpretentious yet elegant urban looks, underpinned by meticulous quality control and craftsmanship. Rolf Spectacles uses hard-to-process materials such as stone, wood and natural horn in its frames, and one of its other distinctive features is its patented screwless hinge system. From the very beginning, Marija “Mary” Iljazovic and Roland Wolf, the founders of the Austrian brand, built their brand identity on the use of regionally sourced natural materials. This guiding principle has enabled them to develop an innovative brand with equally unique products, such as “Woodstone”, the first stone-coated wooden eyeglass frame. Since its debut, the brand’s timeless, elegant designs, material choices and craftsmanship have helped it make a big splash on the European and then the global eyewear scene. Since its inception, the Austrian brand has taken home multiple Silmo d’Or Awards, as well as the European Product Design Award, the Red Dot Design Award and the Muse Design Award, thanks to its masterful use of wood, stone, natural horn and even 3D printed ecological materials.

For Rolf Spectacles, the concepts of origins, rationality and future have always been at the core of the brand Dna and values. It is of great importance for the brand to be connected to its origins and the region in which it is located. As an Austrian brand, the region in which they were founded has played a major role in shaping them. The brand therefore produces regionally and never overlooks strengthening its connections in the region. It develops a close family-like relationship with local suppliers. The development and production of its patented hinges and lens fitting systems, and the targeting of new technologies to create value-added products, ideally illustrate the brand’s passion for rationality. Always aiming to be prepared for the future, Rolf Spectacles continues to present that it is possible to be a part of change and to create better products with a sustainable mindset through the systems it develops and the collections it prepares with the latest technologies.

BOLD DESIGNS WITH ROBERT LA ROCHE

Three London Brands

THREE LONDON BRANDS

BRITISH ELEGANCE

We take a closer look at the London-based eyewear brands that have gained global fame for their understated and timeless luxury designs, as well as their dedication to excellence.

The history of British opticians goes back centuries, but glasses as a fashion in England started to take by storm in the second half of the 20th century. British brands emerge as global brands with multiple aspects. Sold all over the world, these brands not only export British fashion internationally but also offer a uniquely British flair to fashion-conscious customers from the United States to Japan. But to put it more directly, British eyeglasses are the product of technology and techniques sourced far beyond their shores. Top brands proudly combine local knowledge and craftsmanship of Italian, French, German and Japanese optical traditions with their own local English expertise and unique designs.
Moreover, world-famous names do not only use British eyewear brands, but also build their images on these brands. For example, it is impossible to imagine Elton John without one of the more than three hundred Cutler & Gross frames in his collection. Similarly, British brands feature heavily on the red carpet, movie sets and music videos. You ask why? Because British eyewear and British eyewear brands represent a privileged stance and style. Whether it’s Ted Baker’s unique bespoke frames, Kirk & Kirk’s bold and colorful designs, or Hackett London’s classic British style, the best British eyewear brands not only help us see better, but they are also the way their wearers express themselves. they become. Now let’s take a closer look at three of the British eyewear brands based in London.

COMFORT, STYLE, AND FUNCTION
COME TOGETHER IN TOM DAVIES

Focusing on personalization, customer service and bespoke designs, Tom Davies offers discerning clients the perfect fit, style, and technical excellence they crave. Davies founded his brand in 2002 with the principle that our faces are not standard, and therefore our glasses should not be. This attitude has shaped the evolution of the eyewear brand and has made it the UK’s go-to brand for top quality bespoke eyewear. Tom Davies collections consist of frames and glass custom-made in their factory in London to provide an ideal experience for every customer. When it comes to eyewear, Tom Davies is driven by the notion that good design can make a big difference in comfort, style, and function, which is why every frame is made individually to fit the wearer’s nose, head shape and ears. This dedication to excellence is crafted with love for timeless yet striking designs that include the highest quality titanium, acetate, silver, gold, and natural horn, as well as several custom-made materials. These designs have captured the attention of celebrities, fashionistas and film directors, and Tom Davies has appeared in blockbusters such as Matrix Resurrections and Cruella, as well as gaining a loyal international following.

WILLIAM MORRIS
IS COMMITTED AND BRAVE

When it comes to British eyewear brands, William Morris London is one of the brands that cannot be ignored. Founded by Robert Morris in 1996 as an essentially British brand, William Morris London develops striking eyewear collections with a creative, colorful and essentially British feel inspired by the streets of London. In addition, William Morris not only manufactures its frames from the highest quality materials, but also uses new generation bio acetates and German-engineered spring hinges in its new collections. Metropolitan Eyewear

URBAN AND CHARMING

Metropolitan, the independent German eyewear brand, adds four new models in the new year to its designs that emphasize the individuality and natural charm of the wearer.

German eyewear label Metropolitan draws on a stylish past to imagine the future of optical style. Inspired by the Bauhaus movement and 1920s art cinema, the independent brand has been pushing minimalist styles to an international audience since 2011. The Metropolitan Eyewear design Dna is best described as clear lines and an authentic look with an urban aesthetic. And thanks to more than 70 years of manufacturing expertise at parent company Owp Brillen, the vibrant designs offer premium finishes and long-lasting quality.

Origins of the brand name…
Looking for the inspiration behind the Metropolitan name, prepare to go all the way back to the year 1927. That’s when German director Fritz Lang premiered the cinematic masterpiece ‘Metropolitan’ as a groundbreaking and visionary masterpiece. Set in the futuristic city called Metropolis, with obvious overtones of New York City, the movie has become a timeless classic as one of the first milestones of science-fiction storytelling. And timeless style and storytelling perfectly fit with Metropolitan Eyewear’s fundamental vision and Dna.

Sources of inspiration
Metropolitan Eyewear is marked by vibrant designs that underline the wearer’s individuality and natural charms. The secret to making each design unique and fresh lies in taking its inspirations beyond the world of eyewear. In 2019, the brand presented a collection dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus art movement. The collection offered a powerful mix of materials and eyewear shapes. Highlights included a frame modeled after one of the most iconic furniture designs of all time; the Wassily Chair by Marcel Breuer. As a result, the retro-futuristic and streamlined models in the Special Edition Inspired by Bauhaus became instant classics in their own right.

Choises of advanced materials
From its very first years, Metropolitan managed to dazzle consumers by skillfully using metal as the main material for its frames. Especially thin and lightweight stainless steel that emphasized classic, but on-trend frame designs with an oversized look. Over the years, Metropolitan expanded into acetate frames and other material compounds. Regardless of the material, the finish is always premium and unique. As in the case of applying special coloring methods, taking advantage of the brand’s unique manufacturing expertise.  Standouts include 1950s-inspired colorways like pure ice blue, understated rose to classic black. In terms of shapes, Metropolitan favors a wide range, including classic round, square, oversized cat’s eye and aviator forms.

New models in the new year…
Metropolitan Eyewear launches four new models in the new year. The Metropolitan model 8111 is cool, purist and sophisticated. The expressive close-fitting square shape, entirely in block titanium, leaves conventions to one side and is clearly aimed at free spirits and mavericks. The simple statement is reflected in the design which plays with different rim thicknesses, combined with titanium frames with direct support. Available in four masculine color combos from clean solid colors to color gradients. The Metropolitan model 8277 is clearly one of this season’s statement pieces. With an abundance of facets, the feminine acetate frame creates an expressive effect, and is clearly aimed at individualists who celebrate the trend towards more materials with confident, casual taste. The colorways range from clean solid colors to structured colors through to color gradients. Round, geometric and stylish: Metropolitan model 8278 for women keeps the fashion factor high and is clearly aligned with the style icons of the big city. Handmade acetate, a modeled eye rim with facets on the reverse side as well as casual color variations give this statement piece its unmistakable look. Available in four colorways from clean solid colors to structured colors through to color gradients. The fourth model, 8279, which Metropolitan Eyewear launched in the new year, is handmade from acetate in a round shape for men who prefer urban looks. Model can create an informal, intellectual, rebellious or casual look. Typically pared-back aesthetics, clear shapes and subtle details such as different rim thicknesses and a spring hinge come together with clean color concepts in this small, round retro model.
