2026 Eyewear Trends

Focusing on Smart Design and Refined Materials

2026 Eyewear Trends

Smart glasses that integrate digital features into everyday wear take center stage, while natural material choices, sculptural silhouettes, and understated
luxury celebrate innate elegance.

Understanding eyewear trends is not just about noticing what is new; it is about observing how familiar ideas evolve. In the eyewear world, trends do not appear overnight. Colors, materials, engineering, technology, and craftsmanship gradually take shape through shifting priorities and needs. Referring to the 2025 trends plays a guiding role in understanding this transformation more clearly. From this perspective, we can see that after seasons of bold silhouettes and nostalgic revivals, the design focus has gradually become more serene toward the end of the year, turning to proportion, tactility, and a deeper sense of balance. Whether in featherlight titanium constructions, layered acetates, or the discreet integration of smart technology, as the new year approaches, trends increasingly highlight authenticity rather than excess. At this point, it is safe to say that 2026 will not erase past directions but will refine them in pursuit of perfection. Now, in this evolving landscape where innovation meets continuity and subtle differences carry great meaning, let us take a closer look at the eyewear trends that will shape the year ahead.

At the Heart of Trends: Smart Glasses
Smart glasses have moved beyond being futuristic experiments and entered our daily lives as next-generation accessories that unite design elegance with digital intelligence. Research and development in this field have advanced so rapidly that smart glasses now stand at the very center of 2026 eyewear trends as wearable technologies. While keeping users seamlessly connected to the real world, they preserve design sophistication and style, illuminating not only the direction of the eyewear industry but also that of our future. One of the most refined and forward-looking examples of this new era comes from Even Realities with its G1 model. Equipped with AI support, live translation, navigation, teleprompter features, and prescription lens options, the model blend digital functionality into everyday elegance. Designed in Berlin and engineered in Shenzhen, the G1 combines advanced optical technology with timeless forms. Offered in Panto A and Rectangular B options, the model conceals a micro LED display, real-time translation, and note-taking tools powered by brand’s Haos™ optical system beneath its distinctive silhouette. With a magnesium body paired with a sandstone texture and titanium temples, the G1 ensures both aesthetics and performance, presenting such refined design elegance that it would remain desirable even without its advanced technological features.

Carbon Redefined
One of the most striking material transformations of the new year is represented by carbon fiber. Until recently associated with high-performance strength and masculine design, this material is entering a more expressive phase. In 2026, carbon balances between two extremes: bold, angular volumes on one side and ultra-thin, elegant forms on the other. This approach perfectly reflects the narrative of 2026 eyewear trends: merging technology with emotion and strength with sophistication. Fleye Copenhagen is one of the pioneers of this evolution. The brand introduced its Carbon Bold series at Silmo Paris 2025, drawing attention with pronounced depth and geometric structure. Now, Fleye is exploring a more refined counterpoint. The new collection, launching in early 2026, focuses on delicate silhouettes and almost paper-thin lightness. With this approach, Fleye transforms carbon from a performance material guaranteeing durability into a design tool, proving that it can possess both visual strength and featherlight subtlety.

Architectural Touch: Sculptural Silhouettes
The sculptural design trend gives 2026 eyewear a strong sense of identity. This trend is built on forms that not only follow the face but also shape it. Looks are architectural, featuring thick fronts, deep cuts, sharp transitions, and textural contrasts that play with light and shadow. The trend combines expressiveness with an intellectual dimension that merges art and ergonomics. One of the brands that embodies this approach most clearly is Berlin-based designer brand Kuboraum. Handcrafted in Italy, the brand describes its models as masks designed on the faces of those who wear them. Each frame is a sculptural expression with multi-layered acetate fronts, asymmetric bridges, sandblasted finishes, and tactile mass that gives it presence. Every pair functions as a small, wearable monument dedicated to individuality. In an era increasingly homogenized by digital uniformity, Kuboraum’s sculptural eyewear reminds us that true design identity must be experienced in three dimensions.

Bold Precision: Oversized Forms
With the new year, oversized eyewear continues to define a statement style, but now emphasizes balance and sophistication rather than raw power. Large frames are carefully proportioned and complemented by refined materials and elegant, luxurious details. In 2026, oversized models offer controlled drama: an impressive presence without excess. Miami-based Vysen and Los Angeles-based Jacques Marie Mage stand out as two distinctive representatives of this transformation. Vysen offers architectural shapes and bold metal constructions enriched with subtle luxury details, while Jacques Marie Mage handcrafts its limited editions through a 300-step process involving nearly 100 artisans, bringing elegance to large-scale forms. Both brands deliver eyewear that exudes confidence, impeccable craftsmanship, and restrained luxury, offering a statement without overwhelming the wearer.

Kio Yamato

Defying Time, Guaranteeing Comfort

Kio Yamato

Understated yet refined elegance… The rigor of Japanese craftsmanship… Modern lines inspired by deep eyewear traditions… Kio Yamato introduces its new series, bringing titanium to life.

Founded in 1998 in Sabae, Japan, Kio Yamato takes its name from the Japanese words meaning “pure” and “Japanese spirit.” From the very beginning, the brand has pursued a vision that goes far beyond aesthetics: its frames are not simply designed to adorn the face but to integrate seamlessly into daily life and deliver an ongoing experience of comfort. With this philosophy, eyewear is redefined not as a mere accessory but as a functional element that elevates quality of life. By remaining rooted in Sabae—the heart of Japan’s optical production—Kio Yamato also draws on a long-standing tradition of craftsmanship. The region’s world-renowned mastery in titanium processing finds its reflection in the brand’s signature frames. Every material is combined with engineering precision, resulting in lasting durability and exceptional lightness. Thanks to the unique strength-to-weight ratio of titanium, Kio Yamato frames feel almost weightless on the face while maintaining their structural integrity over years of wear. This technical advantage makes the brand stand out not only for its style but also for its functionality.

Timeless Engineering and Aesthetics
At Kio Yamato, comfort is not a side element but the very core of design. Each frame is crafted with calculated proportions to ensure a natural harmony with facial features. Proprietary hinge systems guarantee fluid motion and maintain balance over time without loosening. From the bridge to the temples, every detail reveals an ergonomic approach. Minimalist lines create a seamless unity with the face, turning each model into a refined example of Japanese craftsmanship and engineering expertise. Whether during the morning commute, on a long journey, in the middle of a sporting activity, or at an evening event, Kio Yamato promises the same consistent level of comfort. In this way, the brand envisions eyewear as a true companion to the rhythm of everyday life. Aesthetically, all of Kio Yamato’s designs reflect the essence of Japanese minimalism. Timeless lines free from excess embrace elegance through natural simplicity. This approach elevates its eyewear from fashion-driven seasonal pieces to enduring designs that remain relevant for years. The refined simplicity mirrors the brand’s “less is more” philosophy, where every element serves both function and visual balance. While Kio Yamato may not enjoy broad recognition in the global eyewear market, it leverages this boutique character to create a loyal following. Particularly for discerning users who demand comfort, lightness, and durability in equal measure, the brand has become a trusted choice. Choosing a Kio Yamato frame means investing not only in appearance but also in a long-term engineering solution. In this sense, Kio Yamato continues to stand out as a remarkable Japanese eyewear label that positions its frames as both technical innovation and aesthetic experience.

Power of Titanium for the New Season
Kio Yamato’s Fall 2025 collection once again brings Japanese engineering and design to the forefront, combining lightness and durability in eyewear that makes a statement. This special series captures attention not only with its refined aesthetics but also with details that align perfectly with the spirit of the season. Promising understated elegance through minimalist silhouettes, the collection unites titanium’s exceptional strength with the refined simplicity of autumn sophistication. By blending titanium with the warm textures of the season, the four standout models address different face shapes, styles, and lifestyles, presenting an ideal balance of quality and minimal elegance. Among the most notable designs, the KT-556U combines a pressed titanium front with beta titanium temples to deliver strength and finesse in equal measure. The Ju-Shi hinge system ensures smooth motion, while the clean lines maintain a feeling of lightness throughout the day. Designed for urban professionals, this model adds subtle sophistication to a busy work pace. With its rounded silhouette, the KP-261U “Halo” offers a soft yet sophisticated expression. A model that gifts women a sense of elegance and poise, the Halo immediately conveys its lightness through a slim titanium build. Supported by pastel tones and rose-gold accents, it celebrates the season with a harmonious silhouette. The sporty face of the collection, the Racer II, embodies speed and movement with its sharp lines and aerodynamic form. Thanks to the flexibility of beta titanium, comfort is assured, while modern metallic surfaces radiate dynamic energy. Seamlessly transitioning from day to night and from office to weekend, the Racer II appeals to those seeking a strong statement. Finally, the KT-558U stands out as the most versatile design in the collection, with a form that flatters nearly all face types. Its ergonomic structure and Ju-Shi hinge system provide balanced comfort even during prolonged wear. For frequent travelers, busy professionals, or anyone seeking a classic yet timeless style, this model emerges as an indispensable choice. Kio Yamato’s titanium collection for Fall 2025 perfectly reflects what we might describe as the brand’s Dna: eyewear at the intersection of engineering and design, crafted as an elegant and functional companion to everyday life. By uniting lightness, durability, and comfort with meticulous craftsmanship and engineering quality, all Kio Yamato collections reinterpret the refinement and originality of Japanese design culture through a contemporary lens, carrying it into the present day.

Smart Glasses Evolution Advances

Smart Glasses Evolution Advances

Ray-Ban & Meta Partnership

Ray-Ban is transforming its legendary legacy into wearable computers with Meta. The strengthening partnership is set to replace smartphones with its next generation products.

Smart glasses are no longer just futuristic concepts showcased at tech fairs or imagined in science fiction films. They have become one of the most promising branches of wearable technology, merging style and function in a way that directly appeals to consumers. Over the last decade, these devices have moved beyond the experimental stage and into everyday life, allowing users to listen to music, take photos, make calls, and stay seamlessly connected to the digital world. With microphones, speakers, and cameras integrated into everyday eyewear designs, smart glasses have started to redefine how we interact with technology. Today, this evolution has reached an incredible pace, particularly thanks to the strong collaboration between Ray-Ban and Meta.

Major Partnership Begins
The partnership between Ray-Ban’s parent company EssilorLuxottica and Meta began in 2019. At that time Meta was still known as Facebook Inc. and the agreement was planned as a long term venture. The goal was to unite Ray-Ban’s iconic eyewear legacy with Meta’s technological vision. In 2021, Facebook Inc., which housed Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp under one umbrella, rebranded itself as Meta. This transformation symbolized the company’s shift of focus toward immersive technologies as well as its ambition to promote the vision of the metaverse. For EssilorLuxottica, the partnership offered a chance to keep eyewear at the center of importance in a world where devices were becoming increasingly smart. The collaboration was especially significant because earlier attempts, such as Google Glass, had faced consumer resistance due to technology driven designs that lacked aesthetic appeal. In contrast, the Ray-Ban and Meta partnership emphasized equal attention to style and usability.

First Smart Ray-Ban
The first condition for smart glasses to become mainstream was adopting a form factor people already loved to wear. The first tangible result of the partnership was Ray-Ban Stories, launched in 2021. These glasses were not fully fledged augmented reality devices but rather multimedia focused smart glasses. Users could take photos and videos, listen to music, and make calls through integrated microphones and speakers. With touch controls on the temples, the experience became intuitive. While critics debated whether Ray-Ban Stories fully lived up to expectations, the model proved that wearable technology could coexist with iconic design. The partnership’s choice to prioritize glasses that looked like Ray-Ban eyewear rather than technology devices helped consumers accept the product more easily. The balance between design and function in Ray-Ban Stories set the direction for future generations.

Second Generation: Ray-Ban | Meta
The powerful partnership advanced in 2023 with the launch of the Ray-Ban | Meta collection. This second generation introduced stronger audio, sharper video quality, and features such as livestreaming that deepened integration with the Meta ecosystem. The most remarkable innovation was the addition of Meta AI. By simply saying “Hey Meta,” users could interact with an assistant that provided contextual information and real time responses. These developments shifted the glasses from being just recording tools into companions for everyday tasks. The collection also expanded in design options. Compared to rivals, the key distinction of the partnership was not producing technology products that looked like glasses, but rather delivering glasses that remained timeless in design while being smart at the core. By September 2024 the partnership was reinforced with a new long term agreement. This step underlined the critical role of smart glasses in Meta’s roadmap for immersive technologies. The focus was not just on creating new devices but on reshaping the future of human computer interaction through wearable technologies. The extended agreement perfectly reflected the shared vision of both companies:  making smart glasses as globally widespread as smartphones.

Constantly Enhanced Features
In recent years the Ray-Ban | Meta collection, which has been evolving since 2021, has gained striking new features. One highlight was the launch of the special limited edition Ray-Ban | Meta Wayfarer. Designed for tech enthusiasts and fans of Ray-Ban’s iconic style, this edition merged Meta’s meticulous high tech engineering and craftsmanship with the innovative spirit of Ray-Ban, offering a unique perspective on the development of smart glasses. Equipped with a high quality 12MP camera, it provided users with an advanced photo and video experience. Open ear speakers allowed them to listen to favorite podcasts, books, or albums. Voice controls enabled users to search and explore on Spotify and Amazon Music. The new Ray-Ban | Meta Wayfarer was introduced in a fully transparent frame paired with sapphire toned Transitions® GEN STM lenses. In March 2025 another release followed with the Ray-Ban | Meta x Coperni Wayfarer. In July 2025, the collaboration entered a new phase, and Meta became a 3% shareholder in EssilorLuxottica through a substantial investment. Through these initiatives Meta secured design based credibility and consumer acceptance for wearable computers, while Ray-Ban guaranteed that its legendary heritage would endure in the new era where computers are worn as glasses.

Are Smartphones Becoming History?
Today the question is no longer whether wearable smart glasses will develop but rather how quickly they will become mainstream. Smartphones may still dominate for now, yet the seeds of transformation into wearable computers have already been planted through the Ray-Ban and Meta partnership. So much so that Meta’s founder and Ceo Mark Zuckerberg stated that within just five years holographic teleportation could be possible through smart glasses. His prediction may sound ambitious, even unbelievable, but for the global optical industry it represents both a challenge and an opportunity. Traditional eyewear is no longer only an accessory to improve vision or express style. It is evolving into a brand new everyday object that opens the door to the digital world and can be used by everyone.

This approach marks not merely a product evolution but a comprehensive transformation of its identity—rooted in style, technology, and culture.

Signature Style Honors Golden Year
To mark its 50th anniversary, Oakley introduces the ‘Ellipse 50th Anniversary’ eyewear model. Inspired by the brand’s iconic ellipse shape, this model is more than a commemorative design; it embodies Oakley’s timeless design philosophy in tangible form. The frame’s contours merge aesthetic elements from three distinct eras in Oakley’s history. These include the bold curves unique to the ’90s, the stem transition inspired by today’s best-selling Radar EV model, and lenses crafted with PhysioMorphic™ Geometry that represent Oakley’s visionary outlook for the future.

The 50th Anniversary Ellipse, part of the Ellipse collection, features a special surface finish named Midas Fleck. This design, with its gold flecks set against a black base, highlights the brand’s sophisticated blend of technical craftsmanship and aesthetic elegance. A Bold New Chapter in Creativity
Oakley’s 50th-anniversary surprises extend beyond this special eyewear release. The brand announced the addition of globally renowned musician and cultural icon Travis Scott to its team with the newly created title of Chief Visionary. Rapper and producer Travis Scott had prominently featured Oakley eyewear in his stage costumes, music videos, and campaigns since 2022, earning him frequent recognition in fashion publications as the brand’s unofficial face. Particularly during his legendary post-apocalyptic themed 2023 tour, Scott’s stage style spotlighted Oakley designs, playing a significant role in rekindling the brand’s popularity among younger generations. This period has been viewed as part of an organic renaissance, refreshing Oakley’s cultural legacy. Without compromising his personal style, Scott’s close affiliation with the brand elevated him to a strategic partner poised to reshape Oakley’s creative identity.

Travis Scott, along with the creative team behind his Cactus Jack label founded in 2017, will collaborate with Oakley to bring fresh perspectives to the brand’s iconic models and guide the creative process for upcoming eyewear and apparel collections. This partnership plans a variety of initiatives, ranging from innovative campaigns to limited-edition collections. Exclusive pieces released through Scott’s own Cactus Jack brand will also be part of this journey. Oakley describes this collaboration as a “bold new era,” emphasizing that Scott’s role extends beyond campaign face to a creative visionary shaping the brand’s future—a move that breaks conventional molds. The Day Zero capsule collection, the first tangible outcome of this partnership, has gained global attention upon its launch, signaling the promising start of this daring endeavor. Featuring standout apparel and poster prints, this mini collection heralds numerous future collaborations expected to captivate millions with their aesthetic and harmony.

The launch of the Ellipse special edition alongside the involvement of Travis Scott—who is not only a global music and style phenomenon but now also Oakley’s Chief Visionary—marks a pivotal evolution for the brand in design and cultural influence. While Oakley continues to channel its heritage of technical engineering into trend-forward creations, it simultaneously strengthens its connection with cultural icons spanning street culture to music. This dual commitment reflects Oakley’s resolve to speak to the language and spirit of a new generation and era. The brand once again proves its ability to adapt effortlessly to the spirit of the times and its relentless pursuit of growth.

Among the brand’s engineering innovations, the signature screwless hinge technology and patented Multi-Step Coloring (MSC) process stand out. Markus T’s unique screwless hinge technology, used in all of its collections, gives the frames longevity, flexibility and a flawless look, while the patented Multi-Step-Colouring colouring process gives the frames a natural, matte finish. All Markus T frames are crafted from either titanium or the brand’s patented lightweight synthetic material, TMi. The patented TMi material, which has a balanced structure between robustness and low weight, attracts attention with its combination of lightness and comfort, while being UV resistant, recyclable and hypoallergenic.

Iconic Markus T Collections
The Design (Classic / D3) collection, which truly captures the DNA of Markus T, is crafted from a single titanium wire and embodies minimalist elegance. With its screwless hinge and unique assembly technology, this collection has earned design accolades such as the iF Design Award, Red Dot Award, and German Design Award. The Dot / Dot Mono collection stands out with horizontal temple designs and ultra-thin, laser-cut titanium plates. A complex hinge mechanism provides maximum functionality with minimum volume, resulting in a clean yet powerful aesthetic. The latest addition to this line, Noble Glow, earned the 2025 Red Dot Award. Ease Pro, featuring screwless and rimless frames weighing just 3.6 grams, has also become one of the brand’s most awarded series. The 2020 Red Dot-winning collection pairs a titanium wire structure with a precise lens-mounting technique for a sleek, ultra-light design. The Titan collection explores the use of matte-finished titanium sheets. Though slim in appearance, the models are exceptionally durable, offering long-lasting performance with minimal maintenance—blending functional strength with refined aesthetics. The Mio collection is defined by its translucent, light-reactive color transitions. The elegant combination of TMi and titanium temples delivers a soft and harmonious visual effect, even in bright light. Finally, the Me collection reflects the brand’s dedication to color and material diversity. By merging titanium with TMi, the collection offers highly flexible and resilient frames with long-lasting surface quality. Intricate laser-cut detailing adds both technical precision and visual elegance.

Brand-new Color by Technical Mastery
Adding to its curated color palette, Markus T introduces Dark Red—a new tone glowing with intensity and sophistication. This distinctive shade brings striking presence and bold character to the brand’s signature frames. The independent brand skillfully applies the new tone to the high-grade titanium surfaces of its Dot, Ease Pro, and Titan collections, as well as to TMi materials featured in the Mio series. The result: a technically advanced, rich, and refined color brilliance.

For frames made from TMi, the brand uses a gentle rotary dyeing method, infusing pigment deep into the material for exceptional color depth. From the delicate balance of pigment formulas to the precise tuning of tone, the process is carefully controlled to ensure a flawless, even finish. When it comes to titanium, Markus T employs a sophisticated and patented anodizing technique to achieve the new Dark Red shade. This finely calibrated oxidation method not only creates extraordinary color depth on the titanium surface, but also delivers the velvety glow that defines the collection’s aesthetic. Thanks to the brand’s proprietary coating process, the intensity of this bold new color remains vibrant over time—imbuing each frame with a timeless yet daring character. Once again, Markus T proves that technological innovation and refined design are not opposing forces, but perfect complements.

Parasite Eyewear Tr

Parasite Eyewear

Retro-Futuristic Aesthetic

Parasite Eyewear models not only appeal to the eye, but they also offer a new experience, a discovery, and a journey that transcends the boundaries of contemporary design.

Founded in 2002, the French independent eyewear brand Parasite Eyewear has done more than just produce glasses; it has also developed a vision, a design philosophy, and a bold stance that redefines the very concept of eyewear. Parasite Eyewear is recognized for revolutionizing eyewear design through its innovative models that combine sci-fi aesthetics and advanced technology, created by its Founder and Creative Director, Hugo Martin. The brand redefines the traditional notion of eyewear, offering its users a unique experience. From its design studio in Paris, this brand views eyewear not just as an accessory, but as an individual form of expression, a manifesto of technology, and an extension of contemporary art. Each of its collections signals a balanced fusion of aesthetic and technical excellence.

Parasite Design Philosophy
Parasite’s design approach merges retro-futuristic aesthetics with functionality. Pushing the limits of traditional eyewear forms, the brand creates modern and innovative looks by combining geometric lines, sharp edges, and technological touches. Drawing inspiration from science fiction and alternative culture, Parasite focuses on avant-garde, high-quality eyewear. This approach forms the foundation of the brand’s distinctive and striking designs. Patent-pending active support systems that enable the glasses to seamlessly integrate with the face are a testament to the brand’s commitment to ergonomics and comfort. The ‘Stereo’ active holding system introduced in the year Parasite was founded allows the glasses to stay in place by clinging to the temples, eliminating the need for nose or ear support. This innovative patented system enhances user comfort while also providing an aesthetically pleasing look, accelerating the brand’s rise in the industry.

Functional, Aesthetic, and Durable
Since its founding, independent Parasite Eyewear has not only promised retro-futuristic elegance but also freedom of movement and durability. Every detail, from material selection to production techniques, is meticulously considered in the brand’s collections. Parasite uses ‘Steelskin,’ a special stainless steel alloy, to produce thin, lightweight, and durable frames. This material offers hypoallergenic and recyclable properties, providing eco-friendly options. By prioritizing sustainability and opting for recycled materials, the brand sets an example in the industry in terms of environmental responsibility. Innovative techniques such as 3D printing, laser cutting, and lightweight flexible metal alloys form the foundation of their collections.

Parasite Eyewear has also made a name for itself in the optical world by winning prestigious awards, celebrating its design capabilities, production techniques, and eco-friendly material choices. Most recently, at the 2024 Silmo d’Or Awards, Parasite won the Jury’s Special Prize with the Morph Alpha model. Parasite, in collaboration with artist Clara Besnard, developed Morph Alpha and brought new life to its iconic Morph model, which was launched in 2003. For this reason, this award is considered one of the most concrete proofs that Parasite’s design vision, which skillfully combines the past and the future, has been internationally recognized.

Innovative Spirit Grows in 2025
The 2025 collection of Parasite Eyewear once again showcases the brand’s innovative spirit and design courage. The collection stands out with four special models that merge aesthetics with technology. Each model stands out with its unique story, design language, and functionality, reflecting the brand’s boundary-pushing approach. The CTRL model, produced with 3D printing technology, perfectly adapts to the face thanks to its dual temple theme. The upper temple piece is designed to integrate with protective equipment, making it a functional solution for outdoor sports and performance activities. With a design that protects the eyes like modern armor, the CTRL model is both aesthetically and functionally powerful.

Developed in collaboration with artist Alexandros Angelidis, Morph 2 is a reimagined version of the iconic Morph model from 2003, now produced with recycled and recyclable materials. Combining tradition with innovation, Morph 2 carries a nostalgic air while transforming into a reflection of contemporary design language. The Prophecy 1 Sun model, enriched with LED Vision technology and iridescent rings, makes a striking appearance in the 2025 Parasite collection. This design, blending shiny and matte textures, light and intense elements, and classic and avant-garde lines, offers a glimpse into the future. Each detail of Prophecy 1 Sun is thoughtfully designed to allow the play of light and shadow, making it not only an accessory but also a piece of artistic expression. The Karma 1 model presents a bold concept that combines eyewear design with jewelry and adornments. This model, which can integrate with necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, takes wearable art to a new level. Offering users the chance to create their own combinations and personalize their look, Karma 1 stands out as a striking example of the brand’s approach to supporting individual expression.

The 2025 collection of Parasite Eyewear once again affirms the brand’s unique design philosophy and its aesthetic vision through technical innovations. Each model not only appeals to the eye but also offers a new experience, a discovery, and a journey that transcends the boundaries of contemporary design. Parasite transforms eyewear from a mere object into a form of identity expression, creating a space for users to write their own stories. With its bold steps in the eyewear world, technical innovations, and extraordinary design language, Parasite Eyewear continues to design the eyewear of the future, today.

Cazal Eyewear

Cazal Eyewear

Celebrating 50 Years

Cazal, a name etched in gold in the world of eyewear, marks half a century with its iconic designs that challenge symmetry and break conventions.

Combining elegance and grandeur, Cazal celebrates its 50th anniversary as one of the most iconic eyewear brands, reflecting the distinctive creativity and mastery of one of the most talented eyewear designers of all time. This legendary brand, etched in gold in the history of eyewear, draws its inspiration from the lifelong passion for design of its founder, and today it appears before us with a bold identity that delivers the most powerful forms of fashion expression. Through its innovative collections, it continues to appeal to those with character, attitude, and style. As it marks its 50th anniversary with a special campaign, Cazal brings its timeless aesthetic and creative roots back into the spotlight. That’s why, in this article, we’re taking a closer look at Cazal’s bold and passionate design journey spanning half a century.

A Lifelong Passion for Design
The name “Cazal” is derived from the combination of the first two letters of the brand’s co-founder and creative director Cari Zalloni’s first and last name. Born in Athens, Greece, in 1937 to a Greek-Italian father and an Austrian mother, Cari spent his childhood roaming the lively streets of ancient Athens. After the death of his father in 1947, the family moved to Austria to be closer to his mother’s relatives. At the time, Vienna served as a cultural bridge between Eastern and Western Europe. Growing up in a design-infused environment, Cari graduated from the University of Applied Arts Vienna in 1960. After graduation, he briefly worked for an Italian furniture company, designing lighting fixtures. But in 1962, he moved to Germany and entered the eyewear industry, which would ultimately introduce him to the world. He began working for Carrera Optyl, one of the most influential eyewear brands of the time, where he contributed to many collections. However, it was the Saphira collection that truly drew attention, offering a preview of the legendary designs he would later create. In 1975, as his success and reputation in eyewear design grew, Cari Zalloni decided to launch his own brand. With the support of entrepreneur Günter Böttcher, Cazal Eyewear was born. From the very beginning, Cari and his partner were clear in their design philosophy: to create distinctive, attention-grabbing frames. Though Cazal’s first collections didn’t appeal to the masses, a devoted fan base quickly emerged-drawn to the brand’s originality and rule-breaking design language. Over time, Cazal glasses became the perfect choice for this growing audience. Cazal has always delivered designs that spark conversation, attract attention, and ignite debate. Under Zalloni’s leadership, the design team worked meticulously to redefine the form of eyewear. They pushed the boundaries of symmetry and created groundbreaking models that set Cazal apart from other brands. In 1970s Germany, this unique Cazal design culture was about to intersect with another rising cultural movement: hip-hop, emerging in the United States.

Cazal and Hip-Hop Connection
While Cazal was becoming a favorite among street style enthusiasts in Europe, hip-hop was being born in the U.S. In late-1970s New York, DJ Kool Herc and Grandmaster Theodore laid the foundations of hip-hop at block parties on the East Coast. The bold and defiant style of artists like LL Cool J and Run-DMC perfectly aligned with Cazal designs. When Run-D.M.C.’s Darryl McDaniels wore the 607 model, the now-iconic frame gained massive popularity and Cazal Eyewear’s U.S. sales skyrocketed. Cazal’s American distributor, Palm-Ultra, grew alongside the brand’s popularity and began producing its own striking models. The 858 worn by MC Hammer and the 616 worn by Spike Lee were both born during this period. Today, pristine originals of these iconic models can fetch up to $1,000. Reinterpreting material, function, and form in a uniquely distinctive way, Cari Zalloni left behind a global luxury brand that broke sales records in over 60 countries upon his passing in 2012. The design team, who remain passionately committed to the values of this charismatic revolutionary, immortalize Zalloni’s signature while creating collections that carry the Cazal identity forward and set new standards.

Fleye Copenhagen

Tasarımı yeni bir boyuta taşıyor…

Fleye Copenhagen’s 2025 collection, Combining Details, embodies originality and understated elegance-an offering to the eyewear fashion world, where materials, shapes, and colors converge.

Founded in 2002 by Annette Esto, Hanne Anderson, and Lars Halstroem, Fleye Copenhagen is an independent Danish eyewear brand known for its classic, minimalist, yet bold and unconventional designs. With a deep commitment to Scandinavian design and culture, combined with a passion for eyewear craftsmanship, Fleye stands out for its innovative solutions and superior artisanal quality. The brand remains dedicated to unique color combinations and meticulous attention to detail, making its designs highly anticipated each season. Whether through a delicate engraving on the temples or a sleek pattern on the frame, Fleye enhances classic eyewear designs with refined touches. For over two decades, the brand has been pushing the boundaries of design, seamlessly blending comfort, functionality, and elegance.

Scandinavian Aesthetics
Fleye Copenhagen’s mission is to create eyewear that both complements and accentuates an individual’s style and personality. All of its designs carry a distinctly Scandinavian spirit, skillfully blending urban influences with classic simplicity. The result: bold yet timeless silhouettes. Each frame is handcrafted using hypoallergenic materials, reflecting the Danish brand’s commitment to quality. Fleye also stands out for its innovative material choices—becoming the first eyewear brand in the optical world to successfully combine carbon fiber and wood in a single frame. By merging the strength of carbon fiber with the organic beauty of wood, Fleye has not only introduced a unique visual aesthetic but also ensured lightweight durability. The brand’s carbon-wood eyewear comes in a diverse palette of vibrant hues, including indigo blue, burgundy, and purple.

Fleye Copenhagen also merges comfort, functionality, and design sophistication with beta titanium. The brand’s beta titanium collection, a testament to modern Scandinavian design culture, is centered around durability and sustainable craftsmanship. Meanwhile, its acetate collections reinterpret classic shapes with a contemporary touch. The unexpected material combinations and expert use of color create eyewear that is both distinctive and timeless. When working with acetate, Fleye selects deep, marble-inspired tones that lend a sophisticated and individualistic touch. Additionally, the brand employs a specially developed acetate composition, enabling the creation of ultra-thin, lightweight styles without compromising the vibrancy of its designs, patterns, and color combinations.

Combining Details: Innovative Aesthetics
With the arrival of the Spring/Summer 2025 season, Fleye Copenhagen presents the Combining Details collection. This latest collection explores innovative combinations of materials, shapes, and colors, taking eyewear design to new dimensions. Inspired by the concept of mystical illusion, Combining Details integrates subtle yet bold design elements-some meant to stand out, others concealed, visible only to the wearer.

The collection’s material choices reflect Fleye Copenhagen’s signature approach, incorporating block titanium, sheet titanium, HDCA, and carbon-wood composites. Each of these premium materials has been carefully selected to endow the designs with unique structural and aesthetic qualities. Blending striking colors with distinctive shapes, Combining Details raises the bar in the eyewear fashion world, offering originality with effortless elegance.

Among the highlights of the Combining Details collection is Emilie, a sheet beta titanium optical frame with large, round lenses, a lightweight structure, and a refined feminine aesthetic. The soft pink and rose gold tones selected for Emilie highlight the inner rim details, reflecting the design’s understated yet sophisticated appeal. Another standout piece is Pelle, a bold optical model featuring striking geometric lines. Crafted from HDCA, Pelle is distinguished by its fluid, seamless curves and serves as a perfect example of the balance between structure and movement. Meanwhile, the Robin frame, crafted from carbon-wood composite, showcases deep, rich color tones while elevating the natural texture of carbon fiber with a fresh, modern twist. True to Fleye Copenhagen’s core philosophy-meticulous craftsmanship, innovative expression, and a dedication to timeless style-the Combining Details collection redefines the boundaries of eyewear design.

Theo Eyewear

Theo Eyewear

‘Loves You’

Inspired by the liquid elements in the periodic table, Theo once again demonstrates its mastery of looking at design from an innovative perspective with its latest collection.

Theo Eyewear, which believes that design finds its true identity when it goes beyond functionality, has established its unique line as an independent eyewear brand since the late 1980s. Founded in the city of Antwerp by Wim Somers, who placed the concept of love at the center of his life and profession, the brand brought an innovative breath to the optical world with artistic approaches. Theo’s unchanging aim since its inception has been to bring happiness to people’s lives by designing eyewear that go beyond the lines to express the individuality of the wearer. For nearly 40 years, the brand has been combining innovative production technologies, premium materials and an emotional approach focused on love in all of its eyewear collections.

Theo’s bold attitude towards color and form has transformed it from a mere accessory manufacturer into a creator of design language. Originality is at the heart of Theo’s founding philosophy. Treating eyewear not only as a means of vision but also as an expression of identity, the brand redefines boundaries in its collections. Theo’s lines represent an aesthetic that transcends time and promotes freedom of personal expression. The collections question conventional forms, while the freedom of the color palette makes eyewear far from the ordinary. The brand’s design philosophy positions eyewear not only as an object but also as a storyteller. For instance, the Potatoes collection of petite and versatile acetate frames for wearers with shorter pupillary distances who are looking for narrower frames includes frames with names such as Carrot 50, Spinach 47 and Broccoli 40; this is just one example of how Theo carefully finds ways to reflect and endear its unique, humorous side and love of eyewear design to its wearers.

‘Theo Loves You’
Today we see the slogan ‘Theo Loves You’ of the independent Belgian design brand on countless platforms: on their products, packaging, websites, shop windows and so on. However few people know that this simple yet emotional slogan was born in the early nineties, under the direction of Wim Somers, Theo brand wrote it as a small note on the order forms sent to optical shops to place their orders. It will come as no surprise to you that Theo has taken this bond of love with its customers from its earliest years, through its transformation into a global independent brand, to the present day, and that the stores that work with the brand also love Theo.

Its Newest: Liquid Elements
Theo’s first collection for 2025, Liquid Elements, takes its name from the liquid elements in the periodic table. Each model in the collection draws attention with its fluid forms and balanced lines. Designed to adapt to different face shapes, these frames combine comfortable wear with aesthetic refinement. With its fluid transitions and soft curves, the Liquid Elements collection, which makes you feel the closeness of the design to nature, also reveals the brand’s mastery in the use of materials. As liquid elements are harmonious and variable by nature, the eyewear models in this collection offer a versatile use. Offering a new perspective in eyewear design, the Liquid Elements collection also stands out with the craftsmanship in the details. The materials used in the frames are selected in accordance with high quality standards and every stage of the production process is meticulously managed. The subtle curves of the eyewear temple and the structure that adapts to facial contours make a difference not only in terms of aesthetics but also in terms of comfort. The brand’s principle of balance and harmony in each of its designs is also evident in this collection. Color options range from bold tones to sophisticated transitions. With each collection, Theo pushes the boundaries and opens new paths in the world of optics. Liquid Elements, as the most current reflection of this quest, stands at the point where original design and technical mastery meet. The models named Gallium (Ga), Bromine (Br), Rubidium (Rb), Cesium (Cs), Mercury (Hg) and Francium (Fr), which change the classical frame perception, aim to bring a new dimension to eyewear. Carrying the brand’s Dna, the Liquid Elements collection brings an innovative approach not only to eyewear design but also to the way users express themselves. Theo’s creative vision is evident in the new collection as it is in every collection. Inspired by liquid elements, the first Theo eyewear of 2025 brings elegance and dynamism together, breathing new life into the world of optics.
