Matsuda has introduced its latest metal eyewear models. Comprising six new designs, the collection combines the brand’s heritage of craftsmanship with innovative design codes. The new models stand out with their lightweight titanium construction, finely engraved metal details and hand-applied lacquer accents. Engraved patterns, precious metal finishes and details inspired by traditional Japanese craftsmanship define the collection’s distinctive character. The new series features rectangular, round, panto, crown panto and oval silhouettes, each interpreted through a different design approach. Inspired by the Art Deco movement, the M3165 stands out with its high bridge and intricate engraved details, while the M3166 presents a more contemporary look through its geometric lines. The M3167, with its asymmetrical titanium frame construction, and the M3169, featuring hand-lacquered side shields, are among the collection’s most distinctive models. Alongside titanium, Matsuda incorporates aged Japanese acetate, 22.5-karat gold, sterling silver, ruthenium and palladium throughout the collection. Beginning with hand-carved tooling created by master engravers in Fukui, Japan, each frame undergoes as many as 250 production steps and up to two years of meticulous craftsmanship before completion.
