Portuguese eyewear brand Vava has opened an impressive concept store designed by architect Pedro Silva, created with contributions from creative fields outside eyewear. The 300m² concept store, with three different levels, is located on the historic Passos Manuel Street in Porto. Silva describes the store, designed as a spacious and experimental space, more as an art installation. The ground floor has been designed to reflect Vava’s architectural and design preferences, as well as its connection to minimalist concepts. Baby blue details symbolize serenity and innocence, while the red cube seating area pays tribute to Space Odyssey and the red Djinn chair, designed by Olivier Mourgue in 1965. The upper floor showcases Vava products, with the space also dedicated to a lens laboratory. In the basement of the concept store, there is an eye clinic offering full eye exams and contact lens fitting services. This area provides a contemporary and striking environment with its minimal architectural style, welcoming patients as guests and offering them the opportunity to engage in self-care.
