As part of World Sight Day and social responsibility, Hoya conducted an eye screening at Üsküdar Anatolian Side Children’s Homes Coordination Center in September to identify children with vision problems in Children’s Homes and to ensure that they have a healthy vision. As part of the project, Hoya also planned to provide lens and frame support to children in need of lenses. Eye Health Specialist Assoc. Prof. Dr. Semra Akkaya Turhan and Assistant Dr. Rabia Eroğlu Ayaz, Istanbul Chamber of Opticians-Glassesmen President Ayhan Demircan, Hoya medical and brand communication team attended the event. The examination, which lasted 2 hours in total before and after noon, was like an event for children. In total, 65 children were examined and it was determined that 13 children needed glasses. Two prescriptions were found to be MiyoSmart, which slows the rate of myopia progression in children by 60%. The event created a great awareness among the managers of the institution in terms of children’s eye health within the scope of early diagnosis of vision problems. Hoya stated that it will continue to contribute to public health with projects to ensure equal opportunities in health and education.
