A-Zone Offers High Visibility Performance

Seiko A-Zone, a fully customized single vision lens, combines comfort, performance and aesthetics. Seiko A-Zone, which feels almost non-existent when you wear the glasses, is much thinner than other optical lenses with the same index thanks to its patented technology. This patented technology makes Seiko A-Zone the world’s ‘thinnest’ myopic lens. For optical wearers, lens thickness is the most important factor affecting the comfort of daily life. Heavy lenses that put pressure on the nose during the day from the moment they are worn can cause discomfort and negatively affect the external appearance of the eye and directly the face. Leading the innovations and trends in optical lens technologies in the world, Seiko Optik promises comfort to the end user with A-Zone, the world’s thinnest myopic lens. Combining aesthetic excellence and high vision performance, Seiko A-Zone performs pinpoint calculations to optimize the field of vision and minimize distortions with its ‘Comfort Zone’ technology. Another technology, the ‘Sytylish Zone’ feature, offers the wearer the comfort of optical lenses with extremely elegant and thin edges.

Seiko Sensity 2 Protects The Eyes

Photochromic lenses stand out as a technological solution for the eyes in these days of intense changes in daylight and light changes from outdoor to indoor environments. Developed to quickly adapt to changing light and environmental conditions, Seiko Sensity 2 photochromic lenses improve vision performance and reduce eye contractions and related eye fatigue. Ultraviolet rays negatively affect eye health, even though their seasonal effects change. Especially in the summer months, the amount of ultraviolet rays is much higher, so it is extremely important to protect the eyes. Light reflections from various surfaces, changes in the intensity of light in different environments make it difficult for the eyes to adapt and cause excessive fatigue. Since the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays have the ability to accumulate over the years, it is important for eye health to be protected from these rays in all seasons and around the clock. Sensity 2, the technological product of Seiko Optik, which focuses on changing needs, adapts quickly to all light and environmental conditions; regardless of temperature, humidity or UV levels, it precisely adjusts the color tone of the lens thanks to its stabilization technology, Stabilight. Seiko Sensity 2 photochromic lenses darken in daylight and lighten indoors, providing functional and comfortable wear.

Marcolin’s Successful Financial Year

Marcolin’s Board of Directors presented the Group’s separate and consolidated financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2022. In 2022, Marcolin’s net sales amounted to €547.4 million, up 20.1% year-on-year at current exchange rates and +13.2% at constant exchange rates, despite international geopolitical challenges and instability. The company improved its performance in all geographic regions compared to 2021. Significant growth was recorded in the high-potential market of Asia, while EMEA and Americas were confirmed as the main geographic regions, together accounting for around 90% of revenue. Several factors contributed to the achievement of these important results, including the consolidation of a large number of brands in the portfolio, the implementation of a digital transformation process based on the central role played by the relationship with customers in all its phases, and the continuous drive towards production and procurement efficiency. The net financial position amounted to €137.4 million, an improvement of €10.7 million compared to the previous year, thanks both to the liquidity generated by the operating results and to the regular control of working capital in all its components: trade receivables, trade payables and inventory levels.

Eco Eyewear is Now Carbon Negative

Eco Eyewear, one of the eco-friendly eyewear brands, has reached a milestone in carbon negativity with 3.3 million trees planted so far. Unlike being carbon neutral, Eco Eyewear, which compensates CO2 emissions at a one-to-one ratio, announced that it is carbon negative. Eco Eyewear mentioned that it has cleaned a total of 154 million kilograms of carbon dioxide with the trees it has planted so far. Alessandro Lanaro, Ceo of Modo Group, said, “I am extremely excited to add this very fundamental element of carbon negativity to our already sustainable Eco brand. By becoming carbon negative, we have become a brand that gives back more than it takes in. It will continue to be a very important experience for our customers and end consumers, knowing that they will contribute positively to the environment by purchasing our products.” Tim McLellan, Ceo of Trees for the Future, an organization that has partnered with Eco Eyewear for 15 years, said, “Together with Eco, we have made an incredible impact by planting 3.316,270 trees in Forest Gardens in Cameroon and Senegal. This tree planting resulted in the sequestration of 154.629 metric tons of CO2, as confirmed by a study conducted by the University of Michigan Department of Forestry.”
