Silmo Paris Invites Young Designers
Silmo Paris is once again calling on young creatives to reimagine the future of vision through the 2026 Optical Design Contest. This year’s theme offers a framework that examines both the physical and emotional dimensions of sight, encouraging participants to explore how design can shape the way we experience the world in the years ahead. Designers are invited not only to pursue aesthetic expression, but also to consider the power of design as a tool for emotion, meaning, and forward-thinking innovation. Finalist projects will be showcased at Silmo Paris 2026, giving emerging talent the opportunity to present their ideas to industry professionals and international media. The contest winner will receive a €10,000 prize, shared equally between the student and their school. French designer Olivier Lapidus, celebrated for his avant-garde vision and interdisciplinary approach, has been announced as the Jury President. After serving as Jury President for the Silmo d’Or 2025, Lapidus now brings his experience and inventive perspective to guide the next generation designers through the 2026 Optical Design Contest. The final deadline for submissions is June 16, 2026, with finalists set to be announced in July 2026. The award ceremony will take place on September 25, 2026, during the Silmo Paris Optical Fair.
