AcuFocus has brought innovative small-diaphragm intraocular technology to the industry to address a variety of unmet needs in eye care, including the IC-8\u00ae Apthera\u2122 intraocular lens, the first and only small-aperture, non-toric extended depth of focus lens approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration in July 2022 for certain cataract patients with corneal astigmatism up to 1.5 diopters who also wish to address presbyopia. Joseph C. Papa, Ceo of Bausch &amp; Lomb, said, &#8220;Cataract is the leading cause of global blindness, accounting for approximately forty-five percent of the more than 33 million global cases of blindness in adults aged 50 and older.
