Total revenue increased by sixteen percent from 7.5 billion euros the previous year to 8.8 billion euros, exceeding 8 billion euros for the first time. Profit before interest and taxes also reached a new high, reaching 1.6 billion euros. Zeiss increased its orders significantly by nineteen percent to 10.7 billion euros, thus raising it to a new record level. Zeiss President and CEO Dr. Karl Lamprecht said, \u201cFor the first time in our history, our annual revenue has exceeded the 8 billion Euro threshold. Four of Zeiss&#8217; segments and more than 38,000 of our employees contributed to this. We are growing and at the same time investing in the future worldwide.
