Masahiromaruyama has introduced its new Monocle and Step collections. The new series continue Founder and Creative Director Masahiro Maruyama’s concept of “unfinished art.” The Monocle collection draws inspiration from classic monocle designs. The series reinterprets traditional references through modern architectural details. Compared to earlier releases, the Monocle models present a cleaner and more restrained visual language. A full rim construction on the right front section gives the frames a stronger character, while a special assembly detail helps maintain a visually flat surface across the frame. The Step collection, meanwhile, is built around the idea of layered construction and three dimensional form. Different components are assembled to create a sculptural appearance. New asymmetrical end pieces positioned on the reverse side of the frame stand out as a key design element. These components are secured exclusively with rivet pins, reinforcing the collection’s technical identity. Stepped transitions flowing from the front to the temples give the models a distinctive architectural appearance. Masahiromaruyama also offers two different nose pad configurations to accommodate various fitting preferences. The collections include both metal arm nose pads and direct mount compact nose pad options.
